L.A Councilman Pushes for Law Restricting Paparazzi

Kanye West’s much publicized confrontation with paparazzi photographers at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is among a series of recent incidents motivating an L.A. city councilman to push for a new law regulating access to celebrities in public settings.
 
According to The LA Times, Councilman Dennis Zine is taking the lead in proposing the law, which would restrict commercial photography and video recordings 20 feet away from schools, hospitals and medical facilities.

Hip-Hop’s Birthplace to Be Sold

A Bronx apartment recognized as the birthplace of Hip-Hop culture is expected to be sold next week.
 
Located at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue, the building’s landlord group plans to withdraw the property from the city’s moderate housing program, allowing the owners to pay off the building’s $5 million dollar balance.
 
The property will then be sold to high-profile real estate developer Mark Karasick, putting the future of the 100 families living there in doubt.

Rick Ross Employment As C.O. Confirmed

The questions over Rick Ross’ previous employment status has seemingly been answered by website TheSmokingGun.com, which released records showing the Miami rapper was at one time a corrections officer.
 
Ross, born William Roberts, is known for his gritty tales of drug dealing and the street life, but he also apparently graduated from the Florida Department of Corrections (DoC) training academy.
